Who we are
Save Our Date is a trading name of Laramattix Ltd, registered in Scotland (company number SC884319), with its registered office at Office 2/3, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP, United Kingdom. Laramattix Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC115769). We haven't appointed a data protection officer. For anything about your data, email hello@saveourdate.app.
What we keep
- What you put on your save the date: the names, the date, and the place and last line if you add them, plus the choices you make. Anyone with the link can see these, which is the point of the page. If you enter someone else's name, please make sure they're happy for it to appear.
- Your email address, to send you your edit link and emails about your page.
- A record of your payment: the amount, the currency, the date, Stripe's reference and the email address used at checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- Your edit links, stored only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the link.
- To stop abuse, we count requests from each connection for up to a day, using a one-way scrambled form of its IP address rather than the address itself.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short time.
We don't record who opens your page. If a guest adds the date to Google or Outlook, their browser sends it to that service. An Apple calendar file goes straight to their device.
Why we use it
- To make, publish and look after your page, and to email you about it. The law calls this performing our contract with you.
- To keep payment records, because tax law requires it.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse, which is in our legitimate interests and yours.
We don't send marketing emails, we don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Stripe takes payment as merchant of record. It is responsible for the payment data it collects, under its own privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Supabase hosts our database, in the EU.
- Resend sends our emails.
Each works under a data processing agreement or its own terms as a controller. Some are based in the US. Where data goes there, it's protected by the UK-US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- An unfinished design, with its email address, is deleted within a day if payment isn't completed.
- Your page, your email address and your edit links are deleted within 30 days after your date, or at once if you delete the page yourself.
- Payment records are kept for six years from the end of the accounting year, as tax law requires. They're no longer linked to your page once it's deleted.
- The scrambled request counts are deleted within a day.
Cookies and your browser
Guest pages set no cookies. When you open your edit link, we set one strictly necessary cookie so that browser can edit your page. It lasts 180 days and holds no personal details.
While you're designing, your browser keeps your unfinished design, including your email address, in its local storage, so it survives a closed tab or a cancelled checkout. It stays on your device until you publish, and it's cleared once you have.
We use no analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to send it to you in a machine-readable form, and you can object to our using it for security. Email hello@saveourdate.app. We'll reply within a month.
You can change or delete your page yourself at any time from your edit page. Payment records we have to keep by law can't be deleted early.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you live in the EU, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be on this page with the date it changed.
